Shingle manufacturers require complete roofing systems to be installed to be eligible for the warranty. The materials used for the complete roofing system come from the shingle manufacturer and must be approved by the shingle manufacturer. Whitehead Roofing, LLC processes all the warranty paperwork at no cost to the property owner. The workmanship warranty is provided by Whitehead Roofing, LLC. The workmanship warranty covers the overall quality of the project’s completion.

The starter shingle is the first shingle installed at the bottom of the roof. It is used to provide a stable base for the rest of the shingles. The primary shingle is the visible portion of the roof and provides primary protection against the weather. The hip and ridge shingle is designed to be used at the edges of the roof and provides additional protection against the weather.

The underlayment is a roll of synthetic material that is installed between the shingles and the roof deck. It serves as a secondary barrier against water and helps to protect against leaks. The ice and water shield is a thicker material used in areas with a high risk of water intrusion, such as in valleys and around possible penetrations.

Ventilation is an important component of a roofing system, it helps to prevent moisture buildup in the attic and prolongs the life of the roof. Various products can be used for ventilation, such as ridge vents, soffit vents and turbine vents. Solar and Power vents are available at the property owner’s request.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Warranties vary by the individual manufacturer. Warranties provide a lifetime guarantee to replace the product if it is damaged, at a prorated rate after 10-15 years depending on the manufacturer.

Additional components such as flashing and drip edge may also be used in a roofing system, they are not required for warranty purposes. Flashing is used to seal the edges and joints of the roof, while drip edge is used to direct water away from the roof edge.
